Koen raced the Omloop
Het Nieuwsblad, the opening classic of the Belgian racing season,
on Saturday February 26th. For a good while, Koen rode along in the
peloton but when the finale began, it was a bit too much for Koen.
The bitterly cold weather was too much for Koen after spending the
past four months down under in the Australian summer and in
Malaysia, Qatar and Oman. Koen ended the day in 58th place in the
second big group which crossed the line a good ten minutes after
the day's winner, Koen's compatriot Sebastian Langeveld.
